Managing Retirement – FREE Breakfast Seminar

Retirement Issues – Managing retirement following the removal of the Default Retirement Age

The workforce is getting older and employers are still getting to grips with the impact of the removal of the default retirement age of 65.

What steps should employers take? Should they embrace the opportunity to retain their ageing talent? Or should they be more proactive in the use of capability procedures with a view to ending employment or take proactive steps to fix their own fixed retirement age?

This seminar will provide an update as to the legal position and statutory changes which led to the removal of the default retirement age and will also review recent case law developments in this area. It will also consider the practical impact of the Seldon and other key cases for employers who seek to justify age based retirement dates and other relevant developments in case law.

The seminar aims to ensure that you are better informed of the risks involved in dealing with retirement and performance based dismissals and provide guidance as to best practice to avoid exposing your organisation to risk when managing workforce age issues in future.

All those in attendance can also sign up to receive a FREE Retirement Policy.

The event will be hosted at the Copthorne Hotel Newcastle on Thursday 18 July 2013. Breakfast will be provided from 8.00am for a 8.30am start and the event will conclude at 10.00am.
