Practical Essential Employment Law Training for Officers and Managers in conjunction with NEREO

Collingwood Legal and NEREO are delighted to invite you to a series of three interactive and practical full day training sessions, especially designed for Officers and Managers who are required to carry out disciplinary investigations as part of their role. The sessions are designed to complement each other and delegates are welcome to choose to attend all or one or two of the sessions according to their needs. The sessions will take place on the following dates at a North East venue to be confirmed:-

1. Disciplinary Investigations- Wednesday 18 September 2013, 10am -4.45pm

The day will focus on employment law relating to disciplinary investigations and will include ‘real’ case studies and practical exercises. Delegates will have the opportunity to discuss their own practice and procedure and focus will be given to ‘difficult’ areas such as anonymous informants, taking witness statements, criminal charges and group dismissals.

2. Disciplinary Hearings-Thursday 17 October 2013, 10am -3.30pm

The day will focus on the law relating to disciplining staff and the include case studies and group discussions highlighting some of the main issues for a disciplinary panel. Delegates will have the opportunity to discuss their own practice and procedure and focus will be given to putting procedures into practice and conducting the disciplinary hearing itself.

3. What to expect in the Employment Tribunal-Wednesday 27 November 2013, 10am-3pm

This session will really focus on what happens once a claim has been submitted and how you prepare to defend a tribunal claim, be an effective witness and prepare to be cross examined at the hearing itself. The day will involve an explanation of the process leading up to the tribunal with guidance as to how Officers/ Managers can assist with this process. There will also be an explanation of the format of the hearing itself, examples of cross examination based on a case study and practical pointers for witnesses.

These sessions are invaluable and refreshments and lunch are provided during the day. Discounts are also offered if more than one session is booked. Costs per session for organisations that are not members of NEREO are just:-

a) 1 session £144 plus VAT per delegate
