Disputes in the Workplace – FREE Breakfast Seminar

It is essential that organisations manage grievance and disciplinary issues at an early stage and avoid the many procedural pitfalls that can ultimately lead to successful claims from employees in the Employment Tribunal.

This seminar will highlight the importance of following your own procedures and/or the ACAS Code of Practice in dealing with disputes whether they have been raised by the employee by way of a grievance or by you as an employer by way of a disciplinary issue.

We will offer simple and practical guidance and tools to help you deal with disputes as effectively and with the least risk possible.  Common problem areas include:-

  • Suspension – when is it appropriate to suspend and how should employees on suspension be dealt with?
  • Investigation – ensuring a balanced investigation and dealing with problem areas such as witness anonymity requests and on-going police investigations.
  • Communication- ensuring correspondence is clear, managed properly and contains relevant information.
  • Dealing with unexpected issues and repeated postponement requests.
  • Consistency of approach between employees
