As usual, April is set to bring with it a number of changes to financial payments and limits:

  • From 5 April 2015 social security benefits including statutory maternity, adoption, paternity, additional paternity and shared parental pay will increase to £139.58 a week (up from £138.18).
  • From 6 April 2015, the weekly rate of statutory sick pay will increase to £88.45 (up from £87.55).
  • Tribunal compensation limits will also increase on 6 April 2015. The maximum compensatory award for unfair dismissal will rise from £76,574 to £78,335, and the maximum amount of a week’s pay (used to calculate statutory redundancy payments and basic awards for unfair dismissal) also rises from £464 to £475.
